Name: Rafik Ishani
Your job title: Senior Manager, enterprise risk services

How long have you worked in the City?
Over eight years.

What area do you live in?
Putney.

Do you read during your commute and if so, what publications?
The Times, Evening Standard.

What’s the best job you’ve ever had?
This is my only job since graduating. Odd I know.

What’s your favourite city pub to unwind after a long day?
The Coat and Badge in Putney. I prefer to retreat to Putney than stay near work if I am unwinding.

How would you describe the way you dress?
Always very formal at work, very preppy-shabby outside of work.

What’s your ultimate travel destination?
Bermuda, or one of the tiny islands in the Madagascar straight. It must have a secluded white sandy beach and scorching temperatures.

Describe your perfect day off.
Sleep in, read the paper, tennis/golf, long late pub lunch, then a couple of movies with drinks, back home with friends and then out and about until the early hours, and a house party back at mine.

Where is the best place to take someone on a first date?
Depends on the person. If they love water – the Blue Elephant in Fulham is a winner with its water features.

What’s the most adventurous/dare devilish thing you have ever done?
Plenty of stupid things as a kid with explosives/flammables, plenty of things in a car at stupid speeds (I have written off four cars), and plenty of stupid things on a snowboard. Another example is heading into inner Mexico City late at night with a friend (not local), unarmed and unprotected, until the wee hours. A highlight was having a gun pulled on us.

What’s your favourite type of food, and who/where cooks it best?
American desserts (preferably containing chocolate) – the mid-west.

Do you think your work dress sense impacts your career and if so, how/why?
First impressions are key. A fine traditional bespoke suit exudes success and education, thus implying knowledge and skill.

Where do you like to shop?

In stand-alone stores.

When do you like to shop?
Weekends.
