A suit fit for a hero

For the new March issue of Esquire magazine, Gieves & Hawkes came together with four other houses on Savile Row to create a suit in recognition of the bravery shown by five servicemen who fought in Afghanistan. We were keen to show our support for these young men and felt it was particularly important given Gieves & Hawkes’ historic tradition of dressing military personnel.
We were honoured to dress Second Lieutenant James Amoore. An officer in 2nd Battalion, The Rifles, James has a strong family history with the military and had wanted to join the Army since he was a young boy. For men like James, serving in Afghanistan is what they have been trained for and their acts of heroism and sacrifice are all part of the job. Their modest attitude that it is all in a day’s work shows that these five heroes, and many more like them, deserved to be recognised.
